Please note: There’s a bit of confusion about where to drop off the donations. For now I am crossing off the location for the drop off. Until I have a word from an official source I will leave the info crossed through. Nevertheless, gathering baby items is not a bad idea because there definitely is a place where items can be dropped off. I will post it here as soon as possible. Sorry for any confusion!

UPDATE: The Official Drop Off Location is:

Harvest Time International – 225 Kennel Road, Sanford, FL 32771
Phone: (407) 328-9900
For large quantities please contact 407.328.9900 ext 136
Drop-Off Time: Monday – Saturday 9:00am – 5:30pm

Please also be sure to visit their web site for updated lists of needed items.

If you live in the Sanford area you can actively help children from Haiti that are being flown into Sanford International Airport after the horrible and devastating earthquake last week. I spoke to a volunteer this morning and she advised that there is a need for baby items such as disposable diapers, wipes, diaper creams, and baby blankets. [If you want to help please bring those items to Red Cross at the Sanford International Airport, Terminal B, gate 6. The person supervising the shift will also be able to tell you what they anticipate to need most in the coming days.]

Also if you speak Creole or French, of if you know someone who does, they can also put their name on a when needed list. The next flight is expected to arrive later tonight. Until 67 planes have landed carrying almost 5,000 earthquake victims.

Another way to help is to donate $10.00 (or more) to the Red Cross via cell phone. Simply text HAITI to 90999. It is super easy and will only take a minute. The $10.00 will be added to your next month’s cellular bill.

Hope for Haiti Album

Buy the Album “Hope for Haiti Now” for $7.99 on itunes. 100% of the proceeds go will be donated to charitable organizations, e.g. the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, Red Cross and UNICEF.

It’s mainly a live performance album with great music – I really enjoy it! And best of all, it’s for a good cause…

UPDATE: After going to Harvest Time on Saturday myself to drop off some donations I can say: it really is super easy and took less than 5 minutes. Once you turn into Kennel Road there will be signs, but you really can’t miss it! For everyone here in Sanford it would be just as easy. There are lots of friendly volunteers who will take your donations right away. After that, all you will have to do is fill in a simple form and you’re done. Good luck and thank you!
