Dexter’s in Lake Mary’s Colonial Town Park
Thursday night we met with friends for drinks at Colonial Town Park in Lake Mary. For anyone living in the West Sanford and Heathrow area Colonial Town Park is the most conveniently located nightlife and entertainment spot where you can meet up for drinks (be it coffee or a martini), have a great dinner (any price range available in more than 10 locations), or to watch a movie at the Am Star movie theatre. The atmosphere at Colonial Town Park is urban and with its paved sidewalks it almost seems like a “little downtown” of its own.
We actually sat on the nice fenced patio of the new Irish pub at Colonial Town Park, Liam Fitzpatricks.
They opened in Spring of 2008. I like the atmosphere at this place, it’s not too crowded, yet busy enough to make it cozy.
The picture was taken from our outside spot on the patio where we faced an even more popular bar, Dexter’s. Dexter’s is quite known in the Orlando area because they also have locations in Winter Park and Downtown Orlando (Lake Eola).At Dexter’s in Lake Mary you can almost be sure there’s always something going on an they keep pretty busy…So if you live in the Sanford/Lake Mary area and don’t want to drive all the way down to Winter Park, Orlando Downtown or even Universal for entertainment, you’ll find a nice nightlife alternative at Colonial Town Park and have the benefit of not having to drive a longer distance and paying for parking. This spot is great for a spontaneous meet up with friends or even business partners and customers.
When you go to Colonial Town Park next time, check out those 2 bars. Tip: Dexter’s Ladies Night on Thursday nights is always a hit and a DJ will play about anything you would like to hear 🙂 Other than that both bars (BTW, they are also restaurants, so it’s a nice plan to go and have dinner first and then stay for drinks, or try one of their great appetizers) also feature live bands on the weekends and sometimes even throughout the week.

Colonial Town Park is located right off of H.E. Thomas Blvd. (46A) and International Parkway in Lake Mary. If taking I-4, exit 101 A, going West on H.E. Thomas. You won’t be able to miss it! On a side note: Just accross from Colonaial Town Park (on the other side of H.E. Thomas Blvd.) you will find Parkplace at Heathrow, another great plaza with restaurants and bars. Parkplace at Heathrow is often also referred to as part of Colonial Town Park. More about Parkplace at Heathrow also in another post.
