Claudia and I love exploring new and old places in Sanford, so when we saw the sign go up for Board & Brush we were all over it. Margie, the owner of Board & Bruch was kind enough to invite us into her new business and allow us to create! As a creator myself, I allowed Claudia, the newbie, to step up and be free with this project and it was so fun to watch her and some of the other ladies around us use some of the tools for the very first time. If you’re on the hunt for a new idea for girls night or want to surprise your loved one with a special date night, this is such a fun day/night out! Not to mention you get to take home something that you created and show it off!

To find out more about Margie and her new fun location I gave her a little Q&A, continue to scroll on down to find out more about Board & Brush in Sanford!

Board and Brush is a franchise, but before you came to Sanford I had never heard about it, how did you come across Board and Brush?

An old childhood friend from Connecticut posted a picture of the knife, fork and spoon on Facebook.  When I asked her where she found them she told me about Board & Brush.  At that point I started looking into the company. I then attended a class myself  and fell in love.

Is your house just filled with tons of fun boards you’ve made? Do you still enjoy making them?

Yes!  I love being creative and sometime even surprising myself with my finished project.  We don’t only have signs.  We also have serving trays, planters and shelf to create.

We are all so very excited to have you in our city, why did you end up choosing Sanford?

It is hard to put into words the feeling you get in the historic downtown Sanford area.  There is an energy that I feel.  It’s like the feeling of belonging.  I also think that what we do by distressing and staining the wood to look old and antique helps our studio to fit right in.

The day that Claudia and I attended your class we were next to a group of women who were there to celebrate a friends Birthday and directly across from us was a couple celebrating their Anniversary, a surprise from the husband. What other great things can people celebrate at Board & Brush?

If you can find a reason to celebrate, we would love for people to celebrate with us, birthdays, bridal shower, anniversary, engagement, out of town friends/family visiting, even baby showers.

Is Board & Brush kid friendly?

Yes it is kid friendly.  Once a month we have kid classes on Sunday morning and we have been hosting lots of kids birthday parties.

On your website you have a vast variety of different boards, letters and designs, can someone create their very own design?

We do not charge for personalization (changing names, dates addresses) however, we do charge $25 for customizing which means if we have to create something or combine multiple signs that would be considered customizing.
