Holiday Open House – Fables & Folklore

When: Saturday, November 10th-November 11th, 6PM

Where: Gallery on First 211 E. 1st street Sanford, FL 32771

What: Join us for an evening sure to get you in the festive mood as we unveil our assortment of holiday delights! With several holiday collections to choose from you are sure to find a keepsake for everyone on your list.

Our Friday evening event is free and open to the public. Enjoy seasonal cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as you peruse the gallery and get your holiday shopping done early!

Inspired by fables and folklore from Scandinavia, our featured holiday theme revolves around a modern folktale written by Jessica Hiemstra. This collection is inspired by the unlikely meeting between a fox and a hare. Ornaments, tableware & gifts enhance this story of friendship that is bound to enchant you and yours.

“I was smitten by this fresh new holiday collection because it includes home décor as well as ornaments and gifts, says gallery owner Jeanine Taylor. “The color scheme is a sophisticated palate of twilight blue, burgundy and bronze. It is a nice transition from Thanksgiving into Christmas.”

A customer favorite, musical retro T.V.s will also be back. “We sell out of these every year”, Taylor adds.

Hand painted ornaments from Uzbekistan will also be returning. These vivid, intricately patterned ornaments mirror folk art designs from fairy tales and legends. “Every country has folk art and traditions and this gives me an entree’ into holiday décor from all over the world,” explains Taylor.

“Besides plenty of traditional red & green to choose from, we are adding a “Pet Tree”. This is a special request from our shop dog, Louie”, quips Taylor

Christmas Eve Service with Snow and Cookies to follow

When: Dec.24th, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm

Where: Seminole Community Church

What: Christmas can be a crazy, busy season. There are cards to mail, cookies to bake, gifts to purchase and wrap, parties to attend, people to see, places to go. It’s enough to exhaust us all before the day even arrives. This year, in the midst of wrapping your gifts and holiday preparations, take the time to reflect on the true meaning of the season.

Join us Christmas Eve at Seminole Community Church as we look back at that first Christmas and discover how to find peace in the middle of our chaotic pace of life.

Our four identical services include traditional Christmas carols, an original drama and a candlelight recessional. After each service, we offer Christmas cookies to be enjoyed in the SNOW! That’s right! SNOW in Florida…a weather phenomenon experienced every Christmas Eve at SCC!
