Pollo Tropical is still one of my favorite spots to get Latin food in Sanford. I have to admit, when they first changed their concept to a semi-restaurant (meaning you order your food at the register like at a fast food place but someone brings it to you with real silverware like at a restaurant), I wasn’t all too excited about it. Sure, it added a little bit to the super low prices, but now I finally really enjoy it – or did I just get used to it? Either way, if you’re in the mood for some simple yet delicious chicken, rice and beans with some fried plantains and yucca at a price that is hard to beat, this is the place to be – and based on the amount of people I see eating here every time I go, I am certainly not the only one who thinks so 😉
PS: Right now is “Split Pea Soup season”! Love it!!
