(In the interest of awarding the time-sensitive Hurricane Party tickets in an appropriate manner, we had our judge choose a winner a few days before the month ended. If you submitted a #SanfordSelfie between the dates of 5/27-5/31, your selfies will be rolled over into the judging for June.)

  1. I visited the art store Sumalee Eaton works at for the first time yesterday in downtown Sanford. It’s called “String Theory Creations.” The art work in the store was beautiful and it was meeting Sumalee that made my day. She told me about all of the new events that are taking place in downtown historic Sanford. I wasn’t aware of all these new events that the city hosts and it was so exciting to hear about them from Sumalee because she has such a passion and love for the city. It was such a pleasure meeting her and learning about all of the new events that are taking place in Sanford. She has me the most excited about the new jewelry classes they host where each person gets to make their own bracelet or necklace (no experience needed!!) and the class includes wine and cheese! I am really looking forward to attending these events and trying out new things! The best sources for these calendar of events is “The Current” (Sanford’s own magazine) or on Sumalee’s blog & Facebook page: Sanford365. I am so happy I got to meet this talented and enthusiastic Sanford native and can’t wait to attend my first event!

Have a beautiful and blessed day and remember to enjoy life’s tiny treasure!

    With appreciation and excitement-
    Sincerely,
    Lauren Clauss
