Halloween Events and Things to Do in Sanford FL 2014

Well, I know, I say this every year, but how can it be Halloween and Pumpkin Patch season already?? It happened again, and before I knew it I was standing in the store buying my kids their trick or treat outfits (one wants to be a chocolate mouse – he’s the creative one, no doubt – the other is too young to decide so he will be a darn cute astronaut because mommy likes men in uniform).

Are you ready for Halloween yet? Have you figured out where to go trick/trunk or treating yet? Sanford365 to the rescue! As every year, I did all the leg work for you and put together my list of Sanford’s best Halloween and Fall events. I hope you enjoy reading through it and find inspiration. Remember, there’s no need to leave our beautiful little town – we have sooo many fun events to choose from, as you can see! Best of all, most events are very affordable or even free!

Please share this list with your friends and have them enjoy Halloween in Sanford as well!

Did I forget any events? Just comment below and I will add your event to this list 😉

When: Saturday, October 25, 2014 – 8-10pm and 10pm-12am

Where: La Sirena Gorda Cabana, 118 S Palmetto Ave, Sanford, FL, United States

What: The RIP HUNTERS were asked 4 years ago by some of the retailers of Historical Downtown Sanford to help them with a huge amount of paranormal activity that has been going on for years. When we went to talk with some of the business owners it was obvious that this was much bigger than we had ever imagined because of all the history behind the downtown Sanford area. This snowballed into the First Annual Downtown Sanford Historical Ghost Tour & Investigation. We have over 10 locations we will be teaming up and investigating them with you. Some of the history of Sanford includes the first and only legal hanging in Seminole County behind the Old Fire Station of a man that shot a young sheriff and was tried and hung for stealing a pair of pants and the shooting. His spirit is very strong and active and we were fortunate enough to take our RIP TEAM to the OLD FIRE STATION (which is now the residents of Barbara Farrell a famous international artist) and do a private investigation for her and his spirit which aired on PBS Network and many other spirits of 7 firemen are still very strong and present in that building. Also Ft. Melon in that area was a major post during the Seminole Indian Wars in Sanford. Many soldiers and Native Americans died in that area of Sanford and there spirits are very active. The town burned down in 1887 except for 3 square blocks where we investigate these locations. This is a Halloween you will never forget and probably be hooked on ghost hunting from then on.

Admission: $15/person

Info: Bring a flashlight, camera or camcorder, any ghost hunting equipment, bottled water and a folding chair if possible. Comfortable clothes is always a must have in paranormal investigating. You must be at least 16 years old to attend this event. Sign up and get more details at http://meetup.com/riphunters
