1. Crossfit Sanford

This high intensity, multifaceted workout is designed to keep you in shape for all of life’s challenges. At Seminole Crossfit, located on First Street, you’ll walk into a new set of challenges and exercises every day, from sit ups and pull ups to dead lifts and runs around the block. The Crossfit program fosters a strong group mentality with plenty of support from your fellow fitness fans. With this training, you’ll be able to run, lift, and jump through the Zombie Apocalypse with ease!

Great for: those who are easily bored or want a challenge, “Survivor” fans

2. Yoga Club of Sanford

Achieve perfect mind and body balance with a little yoga among friends. The Yoga Club of Sanford meets Wednesday evenings for a beginner class designed to introduce newbies to the relaxing, strengthening benefits of yoga practice. Seasoned yoga practitioners are free to modify poses for increased challenge, while those new to yoga learn to Warrior II in a warm, comforting environment. You’ll walk out stronger in body and mind!

Great for: ending your day on a calm note, getting your post-natal booty out of the house

Walking on the Sanford Riverwalk3. Running on the Sanford Riverwalk

Soak up the scenery while you practice your endurance on the Riverwalk. With several thousand feet of smooth pavement to tread, two parks, and a beautiful view of Lake Monroe, it’s not hard to feel like you could go on forever. The best part is that (weather permitting), you can create your own schedule, and with a handy running tracking app on your phone, keep tabs on how far you run each day.

Great for: Self-starters, nature lovers, anyone who enjoys a post-run coffee at Caffe Di Riverwalk (225 W Seminole Blvd #160)

Aquatic Center Sanford FL

4. Swimming at the Aquatic Center in Sanford

Swim laps in Seminole High School’s Olympic sized pool! The Larry A. Dale Aquatic Center was developed through a partnership of Seminole High, The City of Sanford, and Seminole county, and it is available for public use. So channel your inner Michael Phelps and dive in!

Great for: someone who wants gentle resistance during cardio, Pisces

During the school session: Mon-Fri 5:30-7pm, Sat 9-6pm, Sun 12-6pm. $3 daily, $40 for three months, or $100 for one year.

Bokey Bike Mob Sanford FL5. Biking through the Sanford Historic District

The brick paved streets of the historic district at the perfect opportunity to bust out your cruiser and take a leisurely ride while you burn some lunch calories. With so many beautiful historic homes to ogle, you’ll quickly forget that you’re exercising at all. If you live close enough to downtown, try taking your bike to and from your favorite restaurant or bar next time…you might just cancel out whatever you consume there!

Great for: working out your thighs and caboose, shopping for a historic home

This fun, fast-paced, dance-based work out will put a smile on your face and a bounce in your step. You’ll be infected with instructor MadDog Makowski’s crazy energy as you learn sequences based in merengue, salsa, and hip hop for a circuit style dance party. Increase your stamina, flexibility, and rhythm while you burn a ton of calories.

Great for: anyone who loves loud music and visual cues, former dancers, people who would rather dance than exercise (like me!)

7. Elite Fitness

Need some one on one help? Try working with one of the personal trainers with Elite Fitness. With a host of trainers to choose from and a schedule full of classes for cycling, boot camp, and TRX, you can find the perfect fit for your needs.
