Soon it’s one of my favorite times of the year again: Oktoberfest season! Oktoberfest events make me feel closer to home and are always so much fun! So because I am obviously super excited about it I am going to already go ahead and post the info for the official Oktoberfest events of the German American Society of Central Florida.
There will be two Oktoberfest events, one on October 1st, 2011, the other on October 22nd, 2011. We actually went to both events last year and it was a blast (even though I couldn’t drink beer because of my pregnancy).
I have been going to the Springfest and Oktoberfest for years now and they are always a hit and very well visited – be prepared for hours (!) of waiting in line at the Kartoffelpuffer (potato pancake) booth.
The food is great, and so is the beer. There will be German style cakes as well and you will be able to purchase German products. There will also be lots of traditional dance and music. But what I like most about the event is the wonderful atmosphere – the setting reminds me of a typical beer garden in Germany.
Be sure to bring cash! Admission is $5. Both events start at 3pm and last until around 11pm.

If you are a fan of Oktoberfest watch out for my Oktoberfest Events in Orlando post next month. I will be putting together a list of the best events to visit.
