Day 36 – Bettye D. Smith Cultural Arts Center

Bette Smith Cultural Arts Center Sanford

Tonight’s Citizens’ Academy class took place at the Bettye D. Smith Cultural Arts Center on 5th Street in Sanford. I had never actually been inside this beautiful 1920s building before so I was excited to finally see it. It was the perfect setting to learn about historic preservation and economic and future development in Sanford (tonight’s topics) and within the walls of this historic building the great future vision for Sanford became even more clear. I can tell you, I am super excited about what is to come for Sanford! More about the most important things I learned will be posted on the blog soon. For tonight I just wanted to share my picture of the day with you all.
