Sanford is getting cooler every day lately. Another proof of that: the all new Rabbitfoot Records store on First Street downtown. Of course, it didn’t take long until our first visit. The store actually doubles as a coffee shop (great organic brands!) and has tables and chairs inside as well as a couple of tables outside on the sidewalk. That’s what I call the perfect setting to listen to your favorite records, because, at Rabbitfoot Records you can actually listen to any album they have in store. Browsing through the records I came across an album that I hadn’t seen since my childhood so, of course, I had to listen to it right away… I know it won’t be long until I am purchasing a record player and all of my old records will arrive here shortly from Germany. I am loving this movement back to the good old times (which I only remember vaguely because when I started being interested in music, records were already quite outdated, well, and you know the rest of that story). I think listening to a record has something calming and more social to it. And I am not sure why, but I feel that I appreciate the music more as well when listening to a record…
There’s a little stage in the store as well where live bands will perform on select days (and the store is open late on Fridays and Saturdays so it’s easy to even drop in after dinner to hang out). Check out the Rabbitfoot Records Facebook page for more details and specials.
