In Germany it’s Carnival Season (Fasching, as we call it). It’s the equivalent to Mardi Gras here. So in an attempt to find a fun costume for both of us, my friend Tina and I visited Costumes, Gags and Gifts at the Seminole Town Center Mall today (lower level next to Macy’s). Sure enough, we found some great accessories (picture will follow on instagram Thursday night) for “Weiberfasching” at the Willow Tree Thursday evening (6-9pm).
I can’t wait to see who else will be showing up in costumes. And mark my words, next year this will be THE event all ladies in town will want to go to! Just as it is in Germany. Well, at least that is my personal goal… Picture it like this: a Halloween party just for the ladies (or anyone who dares to dress as one). Here’s a bit more about Fasching in Germany and below are the dates of Hollerbach’s Fasching Season 2014. Maybe you’ll make it out to one of these events. I think the most popular one will be the costume party Tuesday night…
Thursday, Feb 27: 6-9PM – Weiberfasching at Hollerbach’s –Â The women are taking over by stealing the key from Theo. Sunday, Mar 2: 6-9PM – Celebrate Fasching- Support Your Sports at Hollerbach’s – Wear your favorite team colors or jerseys!
Tuesday, Mar 4: 6:30-9:30PM – Costume required and reservation-only! Awards will be given for Best Costume (male & female), Best Couple, and Best Group.
