Day 109 – La Primavera Villavicencio

La Primavera Villavicencio

La Primavera Villavicencio

Villavicencio has a new community (just like the communities here in the US) that is called “La Primavera”. It is a beautiful upscale community, guard gated, with club house, pools (and what a pool!), tennis courts, soccer fields and even stables (since horse back riding is very typical for the area). The lush landscaping here is phenomenal and the views of the mountains that surround Villavicencio halfway are breathtaking. There are also several lakes and smaller rivers in the community that add to the peaceful, pristine touch of nature. I personally like this community a lot and I am curious to see how it develops. There are still several lots to be built on.

The houses are also very different from the style we know here in the US. You might think they are somewhat similar to the houses we have here in Florida but they are not. Their style is much more the Spanish hacienda type with long, long porches and huge kitchens. The homes are also very airy since ACs are rare. Even though temperatures rise very high the way the homes are built air circulates very well keeping them cool inside. We could learn from that to reduce our energy bills!
