Flight to Colombia in Spirit Airlines
Today it’s our turn – a happy airport visit because we are on our way to Colombia. We’re leaving from Ft. Lauderdale – only problem: we have to be at the airport by 8am. That means we have to leave our home at 4 am… Oh well, since I still wasn’t done packing at 10pm I just decided to stay up. Didn’t work too well because at 2:30am was just too tired and decided to sleep at least a little bit.
My daily picture was taken inside the smallest (in terms of leg room) airplane I have ever travelled. The picture shows Jose – I was at least as, if not more, squeezed in as he was (after all I have pretty long legs). My knees were pressed into the seat of the person sitting right infront of me! There was NO space whatsoever! On a 3.5 hour flight this can be pretty uncomfortable. Luckily I was soo tired that I slept a good amount of time and even the little boy who decided to scream all flight long without a break (he must have broken the record) did not bother me all that much. Jose didn’t have such a good time though… Well, it is as it always is – you get what you pay for. Spirit was just the cheapest choice and, to be honest, I’d do it again to save a couple of hundred dollars per person – at least while we’re still young and can endure pain. Ask me again in 20 years and I might change my opinion 🙂
