Hi Jay, yes, sadly you are probably right, it doesn’t seem like there might be a Whole Food store anywhere in this area anytime soon… Great point about Publix converting one of their stores. I think that would be the best solution!! The other store I referred to is just a little store off of Lake Mary Boulevard (http://www.mandmvitamins.com/). They carry vitamins and fresh organic produce. A friend of mine has bought organic veggies here and likes it. I hope I can make it out there soon too and I will definitely post here when I did

I agree. It needs a whole foods store. But due to stiff compition from the over populated publix probably they hav decided not to north of the winter park. Publix carries a decent selection and that would be bad for their business as publix has a good customer base. They had the opportunity when altbertson closed a few stores. Now our best option is for publix to convert one of their stores to a whole foods style. We should put pressure on our local publix managers and the more pressure the better. As the only loser rite now are the customers. Healthy competition is good for everyone. So anyways I am with u in lk Mary areas need off whole foods or type of big store.

By the way, I am extremely interested in wuts the other place the carries organic produce. I find the the farmers market doesn’t hav the selection one would want. Please let me know. Thanks.

I love Flea World in Sanford. I’ve been going there since I was a kid and it’s pretty much stayed the same. The only difference is that you never know what you might find.

Since the vendors are always changing you never know what sort of merchandise,service or just down right different thing you might come across.

And of course there are those things that you can count on to be there. Like the dollar stores and the stores with the different candies. I love that there is so much variety. The only downfall is that there is no air conditioning or heat so you are pretty much open to the elements. But if it’s hot out there’s always cold beer!

I have given this restaurant WAAAYYYY too many chances. I overheard the manager Dan ridiculing customers to staff and other guests, he looks like trash and acts as such too. The customers just wanted a hot dish and i guess that was too much to ask for him. I would avoid this place at all costs. After speaking with a friend who (formerly) was a occasional guest, I was informed that they have fired all of their sommeliers (both whom he found as valuable) and lost Orlando’s best up and coming chef due to managements treatment of staff. They now have an extremely young and clueless chef named Derek Peters who has no idea how to enhance a menu that has progressively become worse since opening. They know nothing of wine since they have no intelligent wine knowledgeable people there and your most likely to find the owners drunk at the corner of the bar drinking all of the good wine they have. Avoid the arrogant guy named Tom that I’ve been told is the owner and has no interest in meeting guests. A disaster of a restaurant!

I heard that Herbie Hancock, the rooster, has been taken to the Sanford Zoo for care and observation. Haven’t been able to confirm that, but that’s what people are saying.

Since JJ Hancocks closed, Sanford’s favorite rooster–Hancock—is nowhere to be seen. We’re sorry to see him go as he has been a good luck charm for the downtown area for years. I’m wondering if anyone has any idea on Hancock’s whereabouts?? Hope he’s safe!

Thanks Wanda for this great review! I am glad you liked Sanford You are right, it’s such a calm and peaceful town. I wish I knew which restaurant you tried, I would love to check it out too!
I agree, I also love St. Augustine, it’s a great city with so much history. Hope you can come back to visit Florida soon!

I visited Sanford Florida from Texas this summer . I have family I visited there and it’s true I saw with my own eyes ahuge alligators head I saw it when my family members in Sanford Florida he was huge. But, there are other things to see and do. It’s beautiful in Sanford. It has nice people and endless beautiful buildings and the town it self is calm and peaceful. I visited alot of places while there. I got to swim with dolphins in St. Augustine and the ocean at St. Augustine was beautiful. It was so, relaxing there . If, go to St.Augustine You should go to Olsteens if, you like Seafood. If, its pizza you crave theres a pizza cafe there That’s just awesome it’s in St Augustine It’s inside a gas station there A shell gas station I think it is there in St. Augustine I Loved it. Also, in Sanford if, you like homecooked meals in a cafe style setting try I cant rember the name but, the cafe theres got awesome hamburgers. It I believe has a coffemug painted on the side I think. But, whatever you crave or like you’ll love the Homefeel of Sanford Florida or if , your more of a Ocean seeker go to St Augustine for a getaway.Be sure to visit the shrine and the shops of down town. Don’t forget to say hello to Peebles the dolphin and Kat the trainer from St. AugustinesMarineland tell them I sent you and to ask for Kat.You’ll enjoy your time. Well, no matter what you do in Florida you’ll not want to leave even though it’s time for home. But,when you get home you’ll want to share your awesome time.
