Sanford de Mayo

Where: First Street Downtown Sanford

When: May 11th, 2017 5-8PM

What: Taco lovers and margarita fans will be thrilled to hear of a huge change to Alive After 5‘s annual Sanford de Mayo street festival! In addition to the bevy of live music and local vendors lining Downtown Sanford’s 1st Street, guests can say “Hola” to the event’s first-ever VIP experience, designed and executed by a team of Sanford business owners and community leaders. VIP guests will enjoy an exclusive event space, complete with endless tacos and margaritas crafted by local farm-to-table favorite, The Smiling Bison – Sanford. Mariachi entertainment will be provided by Caribeño Tropical!
Chef Josh Oakley will offer a menu of traditional street-food style tacos, including a vegetarian option, topped with fresh cilantro and diced onion. Guests will also enjoy refreshing margaritas, including the Bison’s popular Watermelon version. This is the first time the Smiling Bison has offered an all-you-can-eat concept, and you will not want to miss out!
VIP tickets are available online via Eventbrite for $50 per person, though parties of two are invited to purchase Couples tickets at the special rate of $80. Guests may inquire about additional VIP options, such as special seating, by emailing the restaurant.
Sanford de Mayo is the May edition of Central Florida’s longest-running monthly street festival, Alive After 5, and will take place Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. While the VIP experience is a ticketed event, general admission to this street festival is free, and includes access to a variety of vendors along Downtown Sanford’s 1st Street. Guests can purchase Mexican treats from food vendors, as well as meet local artists showcasing their handmade items in Artisan Alley. There will be special performances, classes, and demos by Salsa Rhythm free to the public. Families will also love the KidsZone, which features a bounce house.
Alive After 5’s theme changes each month, providing a great excuse to hop on the Sunrail and take advantage of the convenient and complimentary Downtown Sanford shuttle, which drops visitors off right in front of The Historic Sanford Welcome Center for each Alive After 5 event.

The Historic Sanford Welcome Center is a registered public 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to enrich the Sanford experience through the marketing of Sanford as an artist, cultures, recreation, and historic destination.
