Day 209 – The Little Red Jeep

Nicolas is still obsessed with cars, so it was only natural that he jumped into this Little Red Jeep of Harrell & Beverly at last Thursday’s Alive After 5 event. You can’t really see the whole car in this shot but click above link to see it and learn more about its story. Harrell & Beverly, apart from being an awesome true family owned transmissions & auto repair business located right here in Sanford, is also...

Day 208 – Sofas and Suds Returns

It was a great day for couch racing in Sanford! Sofas and Suds, one of the coolest and most creative events ever (kudos to Mike Smith of the Imperial at Washburn Imports for coming up with something so genius!), took place this afternoon (4/13/14) in downtown Sanford. It was the second time sofas were racing through the streets of Sanford (click here to read a previous post by Christina about the first event). Watching the races,...

Day 207 – Lukas is ONE

Lukas is ONE special boy, ONE that makes me laugh and ONE that I wouldn’t want to change for anything! He’s the best little brother I could have imagined for Nicolas and today Lukas is ONE year old! Obviously not Sanford related (other than the fact that this all happened in Sanford) but this is what today was all about and I hope you understand the little distraction...

Day 206 – State of the City

In no particular order and without going further into detail here are some of my notes taken at the luncheon… The city is operating on a 90 million budget, biggest percentage is spent on public...

Day 205 – Pirate Fest

Today’s Alive After 5’s theme was Pirates! Pirates are always a popular theme (see my previous post about the Festival of the St. Juans) so combined with this awesome weather, the event was bound to be a success! One of the main “attractions” was the pirate ship in front of The Breezeway. Of course N had to climb up (he didn’t even insist on me coming with him, I guess being a pirate is a boys’...

Day 204 – Fat Rat’s Lounge

On a recent outing in downtown Sanford we all ended up at Fat Rat’s Lounge on Sanford Avenue. This bar is definitely an interesting place! I love that it has a dance pole because it animated some of us to try climbing it up. The disco balls and juke box complete the pole perfectly, so for a fun evening out on the town, I think I shall be back… Fat Rat’s Lounge connects to Shantell’s Cafe so if you’re out...
