Day 212 – The Imperial Once Again

What else can I say, I am a “repeat offender” when it comes to the bars and restaurants in Sanford I love… The Imperial at Washburn Imports is one of them, so last night we decided to meet our friends who are soon relocating (boo!) for a few last drinks… Pictured above it a Stiegl Radler Grapefruit beer (the only way I will enjoy grapefruit is if combined with beer), but my favorite of the night was the...

Day 210 – First Street Lounge

The corner store inside the Bishop Block building (First & Palmetto) has been many things ever since I started this web site. Do you remember Fawn (sad to see them go, too bad they were not around anymore when we became parents…) or the Palette at Art Affair Gallery (loved that place!!). Most recently the store had been converted into a rather posh lounge called Sapphire Lounge, and since last week it seems that Sapphire...

Day 204 – Fat Rat’s Lounge

On a recent outing in downtown Sanford we all ended up at Fat Rat’s Lounge on Sanford Avenue. This bar is definitely an interesting place! I love that it has a dance pole because it animated some of us to try climbing it up. The disco balls and juke box complete the pole perfectly, so for a fun evening out on the town, I think I shall be back… Fat Rat’s Lounge connects to Shantell’s Cafe so if you’re out...

Day 197 – The Sanford Rickshaw

Sanford may soon  have a rickshaw cruising the streets of downtown. The rickshaw currently stands in the beer garden of Busters Bistro and according to our source it might soon be circulating between Buster’s Bistro (412 S Sanford Ave) and The Imperial at Washburn Imports (116 E 1st Street), transporting patrons back and forth between the two popular establishments. I think this is one of the best ideas since the invention of...

Day 195 – The Quiet Man Irish Pub

Bad Monkey Tavern recently became The Quiet Man Irish Pub. I am glad to see finally have an Irish Pub back in Sanford and we might have officially selected our Soccer World Cup headquarters for watching the games. The TV is not ueber large, but the place is ueber cozy and it exudes just the right atmosphere for cheering on your teams – just as you would expect from a true (Irish) pub. Apart from being a great spot for sports...

Day 193 – Finally Limo-Cycling

Yay, I finally made it onto the Limo Cycle!! For my *gasp* 35th birthday I rented the bar on wheels for 2 hours to slowly (because it really doesn’t ever get fast no matter how hard you pedal!) cruise through downtown Sanford. As expected, it was a total blast for everyone! Check out this post about our Limo Cycle ride through...
