Day 212 – The Imperial Once Again

What else can I say, I am a “repeat offender” when it comes to the bars and restaurants in Sanford I love… The Imperial at Washburn Imports is one of them, so last night we decided to meet our friends who are soon relocating (boo!) for a few last drinks… Pictured above it a Stiegl Radler Grapefruit beer (the only way I will enjoy grapefruit is if combined with beer), but my favorite of the night was the...

Day 211 – Just 4 Reasons to Love Magnolia Square Market

When it comes to Magnolia Square Market, where do I even start? As pointed out in a previous article all about Magnolia Square Market, I am beyond excited to have a true German deli right here in Sanford (or as I sometimes boldly call it “Little Germany”). Now here are just 4 of the many things I love to buy at Magnolia Square Market: Milka Chocolate (a HUGE selection) Maggi and Knorr spice mixes Schoefferhofer Grapefruit...

Day 210 – First Street Lounge

The corner store inside the Bishop Block building (First & Palmetto) has been many things ever since I started this web site. Do you remember Fawn (sad to see them go, too bad they were not around anymore when we became parents…) or the Palette at Art Affair Gallery (loved that place!!). Most recently the store had been converted into a rather posh lounge called Sapphire Lounge, and since last week it seems that Sapphire...

Day 208 – Sofas and Suds Returns

It was a great day for couch racing in Sanford! Sofas and Suds, one of the coolest and most creative events ever (kudos to Mike Smith of the Imperial at Washburn Imports for coming up with something so genius!), took place this afternoon (4/13/14) in downtown Sanford. It was the second time sofas were racing through the streets of Sanford (click here to read a previous post by Christina about the first event). Watching the races,...

Day 205 – Pirate Fest

Today’s Alive After 5’s theme was Pirates! Pirates are always a popular theme (see my previous post about the Festival of the St. Juans) so combined with this awesome weather, the event was bound to be a success! One of the main “attractions” was the pirate ship in front of The Breezeway. Of course N had to climb up (he didn’t even insist on me coming with him, I guess being a pirate is a boys’...

Day 204 – Fat Rat’s Lounge

On a recent outing in downtown Sanford we all ended up at Fat Rat’s Lounge on Sanford Avenue. This bar is definitely an interesting place! I love that it has a dance pole because it animated some of us to try climbing it up. The disco balls and juke box complete the pole perfectly, so for a fun evening out on the town, I think I shall be back… Fat Rat’s Lounge connects to Shantell’s Cafe so if you’re out...
